Love my gals a brunch! Celebrating Galentines Day <3

I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, Galentines is one of the best holidays of the year! After all, what is better than gals celebrating gals? If Saturdays are for the boys, then Sunday brunch is reserved for the girls.

That said, last Sunday I hosted my very first Galentines event. We came, we concurred, we brunched! My friend Lauren brought croissants. I made homemade heart-shaped mini waffles, complete with toppings like chocolate chips, powered sugar, raspberries, strawberries, valentines sprinkles, maple syrup, nutella, and whipped cream. Additionally, I set up a cheese and salami board, drink station (complete with pink lemonade, grapefruit juice, orange juice, cotton candy, and champagne), and a valentines sweet board. Nothing says “Be Mine” like your traditional sweet hearts candy.

Though the brunch items easily took the cake, it still wasn’t Galentines without the proper decor! I bought “love my gals a brunch” balloons from CherCanDolt’s Etsy shop. I also used a template and made heart and xoxo felt cut outs (felt purchased from Michaels), as well as bought these cute gnomes and heart-shaped pillow on Amazon. Last, but not least, I decorated my bar cart and purchased an assortment of roses from Trader Joes.

Galentines Brunch was so fun! Being new to Utah, it was a great way for me to connect with coworkers, an old friend from Tahoe, and some of the girls my boyfriend went to school with who I now call friends. Grab your best pinks, reds, and whites, and get that music bumping (Galentines playlist). Cheers to Galentines and all the gals in my life! XOXO

A bit about me... Born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, I always dreamed about what laid beyond my backyard. Sure, the smell of pine trees and sight of freshly fallen snow was always magical, but I yearned for more. So, after high school, I packed up my bags, left the mittens behind, and moved to sunny Santa Barbara for college. After graduation, I moved to San Francisco for a year, then to Malibu/Los Angeles to complete my Master's degree at Pepperdine. But now I'm back beaches! I am working as an Undergraduate Advisor at UC Santa Barbara. And as the saying goes- suns out, buns out, and holy quesadilla there are flying tortillas everywhere (something like that). So, you are probably wondering what the heck is this blog about?! Well let me tell ya... I'm still trying to figure that out myself haha. But, it is 2020 ... and it's about time I stopped talking about creating a blog and just did the damn thing. I thought writing about travel would be fun (and I am definitely going to do this, but in a realistic way, because lets face it, I am not showering in money). But I also thought it might be cool to just do a lifestyle blog and talk about whatever pops into my mind. Don't get me wrong, I am that basic chai tea, country music lovin', curl up and read a book, white girl. But I also have so many more passions/thoughts beyond this surface-level stuff. So get ready, grab your coffee (or wine), and check out my posts!   Enjoy, Amanda
