Comet the Corgi turns one!

A year older, a year bolder!

Happy Barkday Comet!

Hi All! It has been a minute since I last posted. Work has been keeping me busy and I just haven’t found the motivation for extra screen time. Plus, I have been feeling lazy on my weekends off, as I’m sure many of you can relate to. So, I am a few weeks late on posting about Comet’s first birthday party, but better late than never, am I right?

Mr. Comet the Corgi turned ONE on Sunday, March 28, 2021. He is an Aries baby, just like his pawrents! Of course, I had to go all out for him since I am THAT dog mom! I ordered a happy birthday dog banner, crown, and birthday bandana on Etsy. I ordered the dog banner from TylerGraceCo, the dog crown from BustersPartyShop, and Comet’s bandana from TheLTeam. I included the links to these online Etsy shops in case you were interested in spoiling your fur child. Plus, it is good to support small businesses. Evan and I also bought Comet a few toys from Petco, and I made pumpkin peanut butter pupcakes (thank you Pinterest). On his big day we jammed out to birthday tunes on Spotify, wore party hats, and sang the happy birthday song at the top of our lungs (shhhh don’t tell our landlord, he was on vacation). In an effort to make sure we did everything Comet wanted to do on his birthday, we also took him to the dog park and we let him hang out with his neighbor furriends, where he generously shared the remainder of his pupcakes.

To get a better idea of what his birthday shenanigans looked like, I included some photos for your enjoyment. He is such a model, especially when treats are involved!

Comet’s first birthday was a success and definitely a day to remember. I hope this gives other dog pawrents ideas of what they might want to do for their fur child’s birthday. After all, life is too short not to celebrate all the moments, big and small.

A bit about me... Born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, I always dreamed about what laid beyond my backyard. Sure, the smell of pine trees and sight of freshly fallen snow was always magical, but I yearned for more. So, after high school, I packed up my bags, left the mittens behind, and moved to sunny Santa Barbara for college. After graduation, I moved to San Francisco for a year, then to Malibu/Los Angeles to complete my Master's degree at Pepperdine. But now I'm back beaches! I am working as an Undergraduate Advisor at UC Santa Barbara. And as the saying goes- suns out, buns out, and holy quesadilla there are flying tortillas everywhere (something like that). So, you are probably wondering what the heck is this blog about?! Well let me tell ya... I'm still trying to figure that out myself haha. But, it is 2020 ... and it's about time I stopped talking about creating a blog and just did the damn thing. I thought writing about travel would be fun (and I am definitely going to do this, but in a realistic way, because lets face it, I am not showering in money). But I also thought it might be cool to just do a lifestyle blog and talk about whatever pops into my mind. Don't get me wrong, I am that basic chai tea, country music lovin', curl up and read a book, white girl. But I also have so many more passions/thoughts beyond this surface-level stuff. So get ready, grab your coffee (or wine), and check out my posts!   Enjoy, Amanda
