ciao Europa! This is what honeymoon dreams are made of (part two)

Ciao ~ welcome back to part due of my honeymoon blog! This week, I am going to cover the later half of our trip spent in Italia. In the famous words of Lizzie McGuire, “this is what dreams are made of.”  Lake Como, Italy Day One: Lake Como was our first stop on our Italian leg of our honeymoon. We took a bus from Strasbourg to Como, which took longer than expected due to our bus running an hour behind. Once we arrived in Como, we took a ferry to Lenno, where we checked into ou[...]

Bonjour Europa! This is what honeymoon Dreams are made of (Part One)

Most of my European dreams and inspirations, as I’m sure is the case for others as well, derives from famous movies and tv series like The Lizzy McGuire Movie, Luca, Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars, James Bond, Emily in Paris, etc. Thus, we saw it fitting to visit various parts of Europe, for our once in a lifetime (always the goal) honeymoon! We took the untraditional route and decided to plan our honeymoon roughly 6-7 months out from our wedding. While there are pros and cons to waiting som[...]

2024 Vision board: What’s in and out

With 2024 in full-swing, I can’t help but look back at 2023 with gratitude and appreciation, with hopes 2024 will live up to expectations. Last year, Evan and I got married in our home town of South Lake Tahoe at Valhalla Tahoe. We missed a few friends, but were primarily surrounded by the ones who love and support us most. Now that 2024 is here, we are most looking forward to traveling to Europe for our honeymoon.  Travel[...]

Boogie with the browns: 10.13.23 Wedding Bells

October 13, 2023, Evan and I said “I do” beneath the Valhalla Tahoe pine trees. We were surrounded by our loved ones who traveled near and far for our big day. And so, this has become our favorite day to date!  In an effort to prepare for this monument day, we assembled a dream vendor team, and accounted for all the fine details. To initiate the planning process, I purchased the Green Wedding Sh[...]

Amanda’s last disco: A santa barbara BACHELORETTE

Roughly a month ago now, I traveled to Santa Barbara, CA for my Bachelorette party. After moving away from Santa Barbara a few years ago, it was really nice to return! The theme was Amanda’s Last Disco. Think 70s, retro, groovy, and disco vibes. We spent a total of three days by the beach, and stayed in the coziest mission-style Airbnb. Of course, a good amount of preparation went into planning my perfect Bachelorette party! I used an app called The BACH, which enabled me to use features lik[...]

2023 in full swing!

How is it that we are already towards the end of February and I am just now getting around to writing my New Years blog post? I guess it is safe to say that life has been busy, but in a good way. We adopted Alfie, our second Corgi in the New Year, and since Evan proposed to me last November, we have been busy planning our wedding, securing our wedding venue and various vendors, and readying our save the dates to be sent out to our guests. Good news is that we have a date set - Friday, October 1[...]

Happy Halloween Witches! Not so spooky adult diy witch hat

Happy Halloween and Día de los Muertos from Mexico (Evan and I are currently in Tulum)! In honor of the Hocus Pocus 2 debut this year, my partner and I decided to throw a Hocus Pocus party. In preparation for the event, I ordered a Sarah Sanderson custom-made costume from Etsy. I also crafted a witch hat just in case my outfit did not arrive on time (you know how it can be with shipping delays). Luckily my costume did arrive as scheduled, and I still had a chance to wear my DIY witch hat to an[...]

Get Yo Pride On! DIY macrame Rainbow🌈🦋

Happy Pride Month!! Pride is commemorated in June, since that was the month when the Stonewall Riots occurred. For those who aren't as familiar, the Stonewall Riots were protests that took place in 1969 in the US, that helped ignite gay rights in America. The rainbow also has cultural significance in Hawaii, where Hawaii is nicknamed "The Rainbow State" and features this symbol on their state license plate. Evan and I will be traveling to Oahu, Hawaii in about a week (stay tuned for my Hawaii v[...]

Love my gals a brunch! Celebrating Galentines Day <3

I don't know about you, but in my opinion, Galentines is one of the best holidays of the year! After all, what is better than gals celebrating gals? If Saturdays are for the boys, then Sunday brunch is reserved for the girls. That said, last Sunday I hosted my very first Galentines event. We came, we concurred, we brunched! My friend Lauren brought croissants. I made homemade heart-shaped mini waffles, complete with toppings like chocolate chips, powered sugar, raspberries, strawberries[...]
